Fashion Lab Manager – Sustainable Fashion & Employment Creation at Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP)

About the Role

An established organization is seeking a Fashion Lab Manager to lead the overall planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of a Fashion Lab facility. The successful candidate will manage a multifunctional space including a maker space, co-working area, photo studio, and showroom, while driving sustainable fashion initiatives and employment creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Fashion Lab operations
• Ensure timely execution of the lab work plan and achievement of results
• Manage administrative and legal aspects of the lab in coordination with the project accountant, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Develop budgets and track expenses to ensure effective resource utilization
• Create an enabling environment with staff, partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to ensure lasting program impact
• Support the project's communication, visibility, and advocacy efforts
• Contribute to practical lab training programs to ensure they meet target recipient needs
• Develop and coordinate the Fashion Lab residency program and in-lab activities
• Sell memberships to fashion professionals
• Host stylists and buyers, introduce them to designer collections, facilitate orders and coordinate rentals
• Facilitate community conversations to build buy-in for the Fashion Lab
• Develop local and international networks with fashion professionals and maker spaces
• Ensure machinery and assets are properly maintained and used in good condition
• Organize machinery and photographic usage schedules
• Ensure safety of lab users and assets

Staff Management

• Manage a team including Lab Tailoring technicians and Receptionist(s)
• Coordinate with the Project Accountant, Project Logistician, fashion experts, visiting education consultants, trainers and monitoring & evaluation specialists
• Report to the Project Manager
