Environment Officer I at Agro-Chemical and Food Company

About the Role

This is an entry-level and training position for degree holders in the environmental cadre. You will work under the supervision of a senior officer within a dynamic, expanding team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing environmental management plans
• Participate in environmental audits and follow up on implementation of recommendations
• Maintain compliance registers for environmental legislation and propose corrective actions
• Inspect waste generation and disposal practices
• Comply with occupational health and safety requirements
• Adhere to the company's environmental management policy and Occupational Safety Management policy
• Carry out and interpret effluent monitoring analysis
• Prepare reports and budget proposals
• Ensure implementation of environmental regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Fulfillment of Chapter Six requirements of the Kenyan Constitution
• Registration as an associate expert with NEMA

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in a professional body such as EIK

• Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
