Driver III - 30 Posts at Kenya Rural Roads Authority

About the Role

This is an entry-level position in the driver cadre. You will work under the guidance of a designated officer and perform essential driving and vehicle maintenance duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate motor vehicles as authorized
• Perform routine vehicle checks on cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, as well as tire pressure
• Detect and report malfunctions in vehicle systems
• Maintain work tickets for assigned vehicles
• Ensure security and safety of vehicles on and off the road
• Ensure the safety of passengers and/or goods being transported
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicles
• Report accidents promptly and follow up on police reports
• Inspect vehicles and maintain up-to-date insurance documentation

Required Qualifications

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education with a mean grade of D (plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Valid driving license free from any current endorsements for the class(es) of vehicle(s) you will be required to drive
• First-Aid Certificate Course lasting a minimum of one week from St. John Ambulance, Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or another recognized institution
• Certificate of Occupational Trade Test III for Drivers
• Defensive Driving Certificate from a recognized institution
• Minimum of two years of driving experience
• Proficiency in computer applications
