Director Finance and Planning at St. Theresa’s Mission Hospital

Overview of the Role

The Director of Finance and Planning is responsible for managing the hospital's financial operations in close collaboration with the finance manager. This role encompasses tracking cash flow, preparing and reviewing budgets, and monitoring operational metrics (KPIs). The Director will analyze the institution's financial strengths and weaknesses to propose corrective action plans, oversee all aspects of financial success, and prepare accurate forecasts to enable management to make informed decisions about future investments and resource allocation. This position requires effective risk management and strategic financial planning.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activities of the finance department and ensure all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records and participate in audits and reconciliations as needed
• Assist other departments in developing financial strategies, establishing objectives, and making decisions with financial impact on the hospital
• Work in close cooperation with the CEO to establish an appropriate financial policy framework to guide financial decision-making regarding turnover, profit, costs, investment, and forward planning
• Oversee prompt debt collection in the credit office and report findings to the CEO
• Manage claims processing to ensure revenue realization from services and control claims rejection
• Continually review finance manuals and policy documents to ensure compliance with strategy and address current challenges
• Prepare accurate and up-to-date financial and management accounting information to facilitate reliable reports, budgets, business plans, and management decisions
• Design and manage financial implementations and systems
