About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts to join our finance team. This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing financial management, accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, implementation and review of financial and accounting policies, standards, regulations and procedures
• Ensure effective financial management and adherence to applicable laws, policies and procedures
• Spearhead the disbursement of grants, donations, endowments and other funds in accordance with organizational requirements
• Maintain proper books of accounts and keep custody of accountable documents
• Oversee the preparation of periodic management and annual financial accounting reports
• Coordinate cash planning and management of budgeting and financial information
• Coordinate rationalization of estimates, annual appropriation, fund accounts, cash flow control and cost analysis
• Spearhead the development and implementation of divisional budgets, performance contracts and staff performance appraisal
• Ensure compliance with principles of good governance, transparency, accountability, ethics and integrity
• Manage and develop staff within the division

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years cumulative professional experience, with at least 4 years in a management position
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Accounting option), Finance, Economics, Business Management (Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Master's degree in Commerce (Accounting option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration (Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• CPA (K) Part III qualification or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
