About the Opportunity

A leading law firm in Nairobi is seeking a Commercial and Conveyancing Advocate to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a trusted recruitment partner connected to over 15 law firms in Kenya, providing direct visibility to top-tier hiring managers and exclusive opportunities.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to clients on the legal processes involved in purchasing and selling property
• Conduct due diligence on conveyancing transactions and prepare sale agreements and completion documents
• Ensure proper registration of documents with the Land Registry
• Prepare property lease agreements and ensure contracts are duly signed as scheduled
• Draft conveyancing and legal documents
• Prepare and send terms of engagement and fee estimates to clients
• Oversee handling of all client matters before the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and National Lands Commission
• Prepare security documents and ensure they are properly executed and registered
• Conduct negotiations and handle transactional matters relating to contracts and agreements
• Assist with due diligence and intellectual property issues related to commercial transactions
• Provide legal opinions on matters relating to property, real estate, and commercial and corporate transactions
• Enhance the firm's client base through effective liaison with existing clients

Key Stakeholder Engagement

• Liaise with clients and key stakeholders including mortgage lenders, Land Registry, Government Departments, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors
• Maintain effective communication with all parties involved in property and commercial transactions
