Business Development Officers

About the Role

This vacancy presents an opportunity to join a leading organization in the microfinance sector. As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for driving growth and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Market the bank's products and services to prospective customers
• Actively drive growth in customer numbers while ensuring full adherence to customer on-boarding policies and procedures
• Facilitate recruitment and registration of customers in existing and new groups
• Manage relationships with both group and individual customers
• Conduct client training on SMEP policies, procedures, and basic business skills
• Evaluate and process customer loan applications
• Maintain a quality asset portfolio in accordance with bank requirements
• Prepare and submit timely daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to respective office holders
• Follow up on defaulters and collect arrears
• Maintain proper record management for all customers
• Ensure customer retention through excellent customer service

Required Qualifications

• Minimum grade of C+ in KCSE
• Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field OR Diploma from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements

• Knowledge of sales and marketing, credit risk management, and credit lending
• Clear understanding of the microfinance/banking industry
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent customer service orientation

• Self-driven with the ability to work with minimum supervision

Preferred Experience

• Relevant experience in the banking sector
