About the Role
Koinonia Community is seeking a qualified Accounts Assistant to support our accounting and administration functions. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a database of relevant market information on all key items of supplies and goods of major interest to programs
- Maintain and update inventory records and assets register on an annual basis
- Support internal and external auditors during the audit process
- Undertake project financial payments, complete requisition request forms, and process QuickBooks entries
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and contingency monies and ensure disbursement
- Handle petty cash for projects
- Ensure implementation of all Koinonia Community policies, guidelines, and templates
- Create and update expense reports
- Prepare bank deposits, payment vouchers, and write cheques
- Enter financial transactions into QuickBooks (data entry)
- Issue invoices to customers and external partners as needed
- Scan financial documents and maintain proper filing systems
- Provide support to the accounting and administration department
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Accountant
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- CPA II (Section 4) or relevant qualification
- Minimum 3 years of work experience as an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Clerk
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
- Familiarity with finance regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs)
- Strong math skills and ability to identify numerical errors
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
