Waiter at People FOCO

Job Purpose

The Waiter is responsible for overseeing proper table setup, food and beverage service to guests, and providing excellent customer service in a fine dining Italian restaurant environment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Present menus and explain menu items to guests
• Take orders and serve drinks to guests, refilling drink orders throughout meals
• Upsell additional food and beverage products to customers
• Relay guests' orders to kitchen staff and deliver orders to guests
• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up linens, silverware, and glassware
• Receive payment for meals and drinks from guests
• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, and napkin containers
• Ensure service areas are adequately stocked with supplies such as coffee, tea bags, serviettes, toothpicks, candles, hot towels, and linens
• Remove empty plates, used silverware, and soiled napkins from tables
• Coordinate with other waiters to provide team-oriented service
• Enter each item ordered into the restaurant captain order system
• Ensure that breakages are properly separated and repair items are removed
• Perform any other duties assigned from time to time

Qualifications

• Certificate in Food and Beverage Service and Sales or equivalent from a recognized institution
• KCSE grade C (Minus) or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in the same capacity, preferably in dining room service
