About The Role
- The Tax Accountant will ensure management of all tax matters by ensuring business compliance and adherence to tax regulations and governance standards within the East African region.
- Providing tax advice and guidance on all tax matters with regards to government regulation and applicable law.
- Optimization of tax efficiencies and mitigation of tax exposures within the control's environment.
- Provide timely advisory on impending legislative changes and their impact to the business.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax returns.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits.
- Maintain tax balances on the general ledger.
- Conduct to tax reviews and assessments to identify areas of improvement.
- Enhance communication on tax matters and conduct internal training where appropriate.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Economics, Law (LLB) or c any other related field.
- CPA (K) or ACCA certification
- At least 5 years' experience in a similar role preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Thorough knowledge of tax accounting procedures and principles.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws; exposure to tax frameworks is an added
- Proficiency in report writing.
- Strong analytical skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
