Senior Security Officer - Security Studies

About the Position

Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) is seeking a Senior Security Officer to lead and coordinate all security operations across the institution. This role is responsible for overseeing the University College Security Department and ensuring the safety and protection of staff, students, and campus assets.

Job Purpose

The Senior Security Officer serves as the head of the University College Security Department, responsible for the overall coordination and operations of security services, including internal teams, outsourced personnel, and VIP protection details.

Key Responsibilities

• Head the University College Security Department
• Coordinate University College internal, outsourced, and SGB & VIP protection officers
• Conduct office and field-based investigations into allegations of policy, procedure, and regulatory violations
• Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and ad hoc briefs with analysis, findings, and recommendations for corrective actions
• Address security concerns affecting staff and students
• Manage the workflow and caseload of Security Officers
• Provide guidance on and promote best practices in investigations
• Assist in the development and implementation of investigation protocols and security procedures

Required Qualifications

Option A - Bachelor's Degree Pathway:

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, Security Studies, Criminal Justice, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution
• Minimum 6 years of cumulative relevant work experience
• Certificate of clean record of discharge from any disciplined forces
• Proficiency in Crime and Investigation Management
• Knowledge in Cyber Security
• Valid basic first aid certificate
• Proficiency in computer applications

Option B - Disciplined Forces Pathway:

• Rank of Inspector or equivalent and above from disciplined forces
• Minimum 9 years of cumulative relevant work experience
• Certificate of clean record of discharge from any disciplined forces
• Proficiency in Crime and Investigation Management
• Knowledge in Cyber Security
• Valid basic first aid certificate
• Proficiency in computer applications
