Senior Security Officer - Criminal Justice

About the Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Mama Ngina University College (MNUC) in Nairobi, Kenya as Senior Security Officer. This role is responsible for the overall coordination and operations of the University College Security services.

Key Responsibilities

• Head the University College Security Department
• Coordinate University College internal, outsourced, and SGB & VIP protection officers
• Coordinate and undertake office and field-based investigations into allegations of violations of policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and applicable rules and regulations
• Prepare comprehensive reports and ad hoc briefs pertaining to investigations, and based on analysis and findings, make solid recommendations for corrective actions, improved controls, and efficiency of security operations
• Address security concerns affecting staff and students of the University College
• Manage the workflow of cases assigned to Security Officers
• Provide advice on and promote best practices with respect to investigations
• Assist in the development and implementation of investigation protocols and security procedures

Minimum Requirements - Option 1

• Earned Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, Security Studies, Criminal Justice, or equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution
• Minimum six (6) years cumulative relevant work experience
• Certificate of clean record of discharge from any of the disciplined forces
• Proficiency in Crime and Investigation Management
• Knowledge in Cyber Security
• Valid basic first aid certificate
• Proficiency in computer applications

Minimum Requirements - Option 2

• Rank of Inspector or equivalent and above from disciplined forces
• Minimum nine (9) years cumulative relevant work experience
• Certificate of clean record of discharge from any of the disciplined forces
• Proficiency in Crime and Investigation Management
• Knowledge in Cyber Security
• Valid basic first aid certificate
• Proficiency in computer applications
