Position Overview
This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. The Senior Records Management Assistant is responsible for ensuring that bank and customer documents are appropriately filed and marked to action officers, controlling file operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the security of information within the registry.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure file covers are well maintained and documents are carefully handled
- Control and open files, update file indices, and maintain current file movement records
- Check pending correspondence and bring-ups, ensuring appropriate action is taken
- Receive, sort, open, and dispatch mail while maintaining related registers
- Maintain well-organized securities registers and jotters
- Initiate appraisal and disposal of files and documents in liaison with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure security of information, documents, files, and office equipment
- Prepare disposal schedules and dispose of inactive files in accordance with relevant Government regulations
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) years of work experience, preferably in a banking environment or law firm
- Diploma in Records Management, Information Management, Information Science, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Certificate in Computer Proficiency
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of risk management tools
- Knowledge of banking processes
- Demonstrated results in work performance
- Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
