Senior Officer-Regulatory Compliance

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for maintaining a robust governance and regulatory framework within the bank and monitoring adherence to governance-approved policies, ethical standards, and controls. You will oversee compliance risk frameworks, risk identification, assessments, and mitigation strategies, ensuring these aspects are embedded into the bank's operations and culture in consultation with the Regulatory and Corporate Governance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Remain current on governance requirements and regulations, recommending amendments to policies and procedures as necessary
• Review job descriptions against department guides to ensure compliance with approved job descriptions and the organization chart
• Ensure no duplication of responsibilities exists between departments and verify proper segregation of duties is in place for all positions
• Align reporting lines across departments with department scope to prevent conflicts with departmental objectives
• Conduct analysis and provide support in pre-approval processes for potential conflicts of interest, including staff external business activities, staff relatives, gifts, and other relevant matters
• Ensure appropriate mitigation controls are implemented as mandated by the conflicts of interest policy
• Obtain and compile facts and information to support the Corporate Governance Manager and Head of Compliance Officer in resolving identified conflicts of interest
• Implement approved department policies, processes, and procedures while monitoring adherence to ensure controlled work execution
• Contribute to the preparation of governance and regulatory compliance documentation and reporting
