Senior Internal Auditor – Grade 8

About the Position

National Defence University - NDU-K is seeking an experienced professional for this Senior Internal Auditor position in Nairobi, Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute audit assignments and conduct audits and investigations on reported and suspected cases
• Participate in the development of audit strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective implementation
• Contribute to the preparation of risk-based annual audit plans for approval by the Audit & Integrity Committee
• Prepare audit reports upon completion of each audit engagement to ensure timely issuance to Management for implementation of recommended actions
• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of actions taken to implement audit recommendations from both internal and external audits
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly audit reports to the Audit and Integrity Committee
• Provide input into corporate risk and audit plans
• Share information within the organization to increase awareness of fraud and regulatory risks
• Execute information security audits across the organization
• Evaluate financial and information systems, management procedures, and security controls
• Assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of operational processes with corporate security policies and government regulations
• Develop and administer risk-focused examinations for IT systems
• Interview personnel to establish system security risks and complications
• Document the audit process across various computing environments and computer applications
• Assess exposures resulting from ineffective or missing control practices
• Interpret audit results against defined criteria and prepare reports of audit findings

Requirements

• Cumulative service period of six (6) years' relevant work experience, with a minimum of three (3) years at the grade of Internal Auditor I or in a comparable position
