Senior Finance Officer at Habitat for Humanity International

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join our dynamic team. This is a key position within our finance department, where you will support the Finance and Operations Manager in managing all financial operations and ensuring the organization maintains robust financial controls and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the development, documentation, implementation, and monitoring of financial transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recording on the Sun System
• Code financial transactions in line with fund accounting policies and donor reporting frameworks (DBL, Project codes, and function codes)
• Prepare and deliver financial reports to stakeholders by prescribed deadlines
• Develop, document, and monitor internal control processes to prevent loss and misuse of organizational assets
• Support the preparation and analysis of accurate "Actual vs. Budget" financial statements from the National Office's financial database
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts, monitoring for performance and efficiency
• Ensure delivery of complete balance sheet reconciliation on a monthly basis
• Prepare organizational monthly and quarterly forecasts
• Supervise and review petty cash and supplier payments in compliance with finance policies
• Provide oversight on bank management

• Ensure sound financial management practices across the organization
• Enforce strict implementation of organizational and international finance policies
• Deliver timely and high-quality internal and external financial reporting
• Demonstrate strong people management skills to lead and develop the finance team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
• Professional qualification: CPA, ACCA, or CIM

Experience Required

• 7–10 years of work experience in a busy organization, private business, or non-governmental organization
• Minimum 2 years of experience at management level with responsibility for overseeing the Finance function
