About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to drive growth in the renewable energy sector. We are seeking an experienced Channel Distribution Sales Manager to lead our distribution strategy, build key partnerships, and expand our market presence in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit key distributors and support the distribution of our channel business in the market
- Identify new clients in the renewable energy business and establish rapport with potential and existing clients
- Prepare contracts, quotations, and arrange exhibitions, trainings, presentations, and industry events in liaison with the marketing department
- Monitor market trends, competition, and customer preferences to support distributors
- Identify long and short-term issues that need to be addressed and advise management on strategic matters relating to new proposals and problem areas
- Provide training, marketing materials, and sales support to channel business partners to help them effectively promote and sell solar products
- Develop and nurture leads through various channels, including outbound calls, networking, digital marketing, and referrals
- Support distributors with necessary services and provide relationship management to ensure high-level customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business
- Manage distributor accounts to avoid deferred payments and control bad debts
- Document sales activities, generate reports outlining progress towards sales targets and achievements, and maintain client transaction records
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure products are readily available to meet customer demand
- Monitor customer satisfaction and feedback related to distribution and work to improve satisfaction levels
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sales and Marketing, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 5–7 years' experience in renewable energy channel distribution, with a minimum of 3 years as a sales manager
- Proficiency in solar energy knowledge, distribution strategy, sales and marketing, and financial management
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer behavior in the renewable energy sector
