Position Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) seeks motivated professionals for Professor and Associate Professor positions in ICT Engineering with a specialization in Data Science. These leadership roles involve designing and implementing comprehensive teaching and learning programmes, developing research strategies, securing funding, mentoring academic staff and students, and fostering industry collaborations to drive innovation and technology transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages nationally, regionally, and internationally within your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external research funding bids and consultancy opportunities in your field
• Exercise sapiential, intellectual, and educational leadership within the Institute
• Promote innovative course design and delivery approaches while ensuring compliance with institutional quality frameworks, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes aligned with programme objectives
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by cultivating a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments where applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion the dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners to facilitate technology transfer and commercialization of innovations
• Mobilize resources to support research and teaching initiatives
