Position Overview

Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST) seeks motivated professionals for Professor and Associate Professor positions in ICT Engineering with a focus on Data Science. These positions offer leadership opportunities in designing, developing, and implementing teaching and learning programmes at the Institute, while advancing research strategies, mobilizing resources, and fostering innovation through industry collaboration and technology transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in your area of specialization at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies in your area of specialization
• Exercise sapiential authority and provide intellectual and educational leadership
• Promote the development of innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify learning needs of students and design appropriate learning outcomes; assess student learning activities and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals in line with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes in your areas of research interest
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry in technology transfer and commercialization of innovation
