Overview

This role entails providing leadership in the design, development, and implementation of teaching and learning programmes at the Institute. You will develop and implement the Institute's research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilize resources, mentor academic staff and students, establish academic-industry collaborations, champion dissemination of research outputs, and collaborate with stakeholders on technology transfer and commercialization of innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages in reaction engineering at national, regional, and international levels
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies within your area of specialization
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership within the department and Institute
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Provide academic leadership by fostering a vibrant and productive academic environment
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in reaction engineering
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners on technology transfer and innovation commercialization
