Position Overview

Kenya-AIST seeks experienced professors to provide leadership in agricultural biotechnology, food science, food processing/engineering, and functional food research and education. These positions involve designing and developing comprehensive teaching and learning programmes, implementing research strategies within your area of specialization, mobilizing resources, mentoring staff and students, and fostering industry collaborations to drive technology transfer and innovation commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead research partnerships, collaborations, and linkages at national, regional, and international levels within your area of specialization
• Initiate and lead external bids for research funding and consultancies
• Exercise intellectual and educational leadership, providing sapiential authority in your field
• Promote innovative approaches to course design and delivery while ensuring compliance with the Institute's quality framework, educational standards, and regulations
• Identify student learning needs and design appropriate learning outcomes
• Assess student learning activities, conduct examinations, and provide constructive feedback
• Develop laboratory manuals aligned with approved curricula in your thematic area
• Supervise students' theses, dissertations, internships, and attachments as applicable
• Mentor teaching and research staff and students in your area of specialization
• Champion dissemination of research outputs and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and industry partners in technology transfer and innovation commercialization
• Provide academic leadership to foster a vibrant and productive academic environment
