Peace and Social Justice Intern

About the Position

The Refugee Consortium of Kenya seeks a qualified intern to support peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and social justice initiatives in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of peacebuilding, conflict prevention, transformation, and social justice initiatives
• Support community outreach and engagement with key stakeholders, including civil society organizations, community leaders, government actors, refugees, and host communities
• Support the organization and facilitation of community dialogues, funnel dialogue approaches, conflict prevention trainings, and stakeholder engagement forums
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to peace and social justice program outcomes and impact
• Contribute to research, documentation, success stories, case studies, and learning products on peacebuilding and conflict transformation interventions
• Support advocacy initiatives, campaigns, and capacity-building activities
• Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and maintaining project documentation
• Participate in RCK's wider programmatic interventions as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies, International Relations, Development Studies, Diplomacy, Political Science, or a related field of social sciences
• Strong interest in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, social justice, governance, and humanitarian work
• Basic understanding of conflict dynamics, social cohesion, and community-based peace approaches
• Research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
