About the Role
Karatina University seeks a dedicated part-time lecturer for the School of Health Sciences. In this role, you will teach in a specialized and established programme of study, imparting knowledge and skills to students through a range of delivery techniques designed to inspire engagement and facilitate effective learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach specialized courses using diverse delivery techniques to inspire and engage students
- Interpret and synthesize curriculum content for effective dissemination to learners
- Prepare course outlines to guide effective delivery and coverage of syllabus content
- Develop learning content ensuring adequate coverage of course requirements
- Set, moderate, invigilate, and administer examinations to assess student understanding and provide progressive reports to the department
- Supervise undergraduate projects, dissertations, and theses at graduate level, as well as other experiential learning programmes
- Initiate, promote, and participate in research to generate new knowledge in your field
- Invigilate and assess students during attachments, trips, and internships to equip them with technical expertise for future careers
- Monitor class attendance to ensure students meet the required attendance threshold (more than two-thirds of all lectures) before sitting examinations
- Present examination results to the Departmental Board of Examiners
Required Qualifications
- Earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution
- Registration with the relevant professional body as required by your field of specialization
- Demonstrated potential for university teaching and/or research
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
- Note: Master's degree holders registered for PhD may be considered
