Nursing Lecturer- General Nursing - 2 Posts at Presbyterian University of East Africa

About the Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Presbyterian University of East Africa as a Nursing Lecturer in General Nursing. Two posts are available.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and training in general nursing
• Develop and review curricula
• Conduct grant writing, research, and innovation activities
• Engage in departmental fund-raising activities
• Supervise and mentor students
• Mentor junior staff members
• Publish research and disseminate knowledge through various channels
• Participate in professional development activities
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance and accreditation requirements set by relevant regulatory bodies
• Support the Head of Department and programme leaders in managing strategic development of programs and departmental administration
• Assess student performance through setting and marking coursework, conducting practical sessions, supervisions, fieldwork, and examinations, with appropriate feedback
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Head of Department on behalf of the Vice Chancellor

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Nursing or equivalent qualification from a recognized university
• Registration with relevant professional bodies
• Minimum of 28 peer-reviewed publications from the time of appointment as lecturer or senior lecturer

Required Experience

• At least three (3) years of full-time teaching at university level as a Lecturer, OR a minimum of six (6) years of industry experience in the relevant field
• Supervised a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer
• Familiarity with quality assurance and accreditation requirements by relevant regulatory organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in grant writing
• Demonstrable ability to lead research projects, secure funding, and generate income
• Excellent written communication skills
