Nurse Lead- Specialists Clinic at AAR Hospital

Job Purpose

The Nurse Lead provides clinical and administrative leadership for the Specialists Clinic. Key responsibilities include orienting new employees, creating work schedules and duty rotas, overseeing medical billing accuracy, drafting unit budgets, implementing policy changes, initiating professional development training, ordering medical equipment, leading staff meetings, and negotiating insurance contracts as needed.

Leadership Attributes

• Serve as a role model of the nursing profession, exercising professionalism at all times
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and new nurses
• Ensure all patients are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect, and are involved in their care
• Attend administrative meetings, charge nurse meetings, procedure committees, and other committees as required
• Oversee nursing activities in the specialist clinics and manage staff effectively
• Apply hospital disciplinary procedures appropriately in response to policy violations
• Protect all confidential information concerning the hospital, consultants, and patients, with disclosure only by permission of the patient and Chief Executive Officer
• Ensure specialist clinics operate efficiently with timely patient booking and seamless operations
• Maintain availability and effective utilization of clinic utilities to ensure quality service delivery, profitability, and cost-containment
• Ensure timely charging for all services provided

Policies and Standards

• Utilize nursing care standards and procedures to continuously improve quality of care and exceed patient expectations
• Participate in audits within the specialist clinics
• Ensure all specialist clinic patients are assessed and reviewed on appointment by consultants
• Ensure all patient information is documented in the hospital management system
• Implement specialist clinic policies and procedures
