Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse at Aster Healthcare

Position Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. You will provide specialized care to critically ill or premature newborns in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), delivering exceptional and compassionate care to neonates while supporting their families through this critical period.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and assess neonatal patients continuously
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy
• Operate and maintain neonatal medical equipment, including ventilators
• Provide emotional support to families and facilitate communication
• Collaborate with physicians, neonatal specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care
• Ensure high standards of compassionate, evidence-based nursing care

Required Qualifications

• Trained and licensed Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse (NICU RN) with specialized expertise in high-acuity neonatal care
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in NICU or pediatric care
• Proven ability to care for critically ill and premature newborns, including ventilator and IV management
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Current BLS/CPR certification
