Medical Officer at Premier Hospital

Job Purpose

To provide comprehensive medical care to patients across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency departments by offering consultations, performing necessary procedures, stabilizing emergencies, and liaising with consultants on patient management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Attend to emergencies in the Accident & Emergency and Outpatient departments
• Provide care to patients in the Inpatient department in conjunction with consultants
• Process direct admissions and admit patients as clinically necessary
• Participate in mortality and morbidity audits
• Perform diagnosis and management according to established protocols
• Participate in health talks and outreach programs
• Attend weekly CMEs and other training activities
• Contribute to the creation of clinical Standard Operating Procedures in coordination with resident consultants
• Maintain accurate medical records through proper documentation of patient history and procedures performed
• Counsel patients and relatives on diagnosis, treatment, and bereavement support

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery
• Registration with The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Valid practicing license from The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
• Active BLS and ACLS certificates
