## Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment, including excavators, motor graders, trucks, and loaders
- Conduct repairs, replacements, and adjustments to mechanical systems for optimal equipment efficiency
- Perform routine service tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to prevent breakdowns
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals
- Analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
- Provide detailed reports on equipment conditions and repair status
- Track spare parts and material inventory
- Assist in ordering required parts and supplies
- Advise management on spare parts procurement and fleet maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with external service providers or workshops when specialized repairs are needed
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Observe all safety protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in vehicle and heavy machinery maintenance, preferably in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, petrol, and diesel engines
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
