## Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy equipment, including excavators, motor graders, trucks, and loaders
  • Conduct repairs, replacements, and adjustments to mechanical systems for optimal equipment efficiency
  • Perform routine service tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to prevent breakdowns
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals
  • Analyze complex problems, develop solutions, and execute repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Provide detailed reports on equipment conditions and repair status
  • Track spare parts and material inventory
  • Assist in ordering required parts and supplies
  • Advise management on spare parts procurement and fleet maintenance schedules
  • Coordinate with external service providers or workshops when specialized repairs are needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Observe all safety protocols
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in vehicle and heavy machinery maintenance, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, petrol, and diesel engines
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
