About the Role
Yatima Outreach Organization seeks a dedicated Mathematics and Physics teacher for our junior secondary school in Nairobi, Kenya. You will play a key role in delivering quality education and fostering student development within a Christian learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure complete syllabus coverage while maintaining high-quality teaching standards and effective learning outcomes
- Coordinate co-curricular activities and school-based events within your assigned areas
- Enforce school policies, procedures, and behavioral standards to maintain a positive learning environment
- Build and maintain excellent communication and effective working relationships with parents, guardians, and sponsors
- Promote Christian values within the school through devotional sessions, prayer activities, and modeling Christ-like behavior
- Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
- Maintain relevant school records to required standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in Education, B.Ed Degree, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Kenya
- Minimum 2 years of work experience
- CBC (Competency-Based Curriculum) compliant teaching qualification
- TSC (Teachers Service Commission) license
- Born again Christian
- Competent in teaching Mathematics and Physics or any related subject combination
- Conversant and compliant with Kenyan education systems, standards, and trends
- Knowledge of the Children's Act, teachers' code of ethics, child protection policies, and relevant government legislation
- Understanding of local community dynamics and geographical context (distinct advantage)
