Position Summary
The Head of Marketing will be a strategist and an implementer—equally comfortable devising big-picture campaigns and rolling up their sleeves to execute them. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that enhance Dance Centre Kenya's visibility, grow enrollment, and increase audience engagement. This role requires a proactive individual with the ability to balance creative vision with the practical demands of a fast-paced arts organization.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to grow DCK's visibility, enrollment, and event attendance
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director to align marketing efforts with organizational goals
- Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Create and manage content for all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), ensuring a minimum of five high-quality posts per week
- Respond promptly and professionally to social media messages, fostering engagement and community
- Collaborate with website expert to optimize DCK's website (SEO and content updates) to drive traffic and ensure relevant, up-to-date information
- Explore innovative ways to grow DCK's digital presence and audience reach
Public Relations & Media Outreach
- Cultivate relationships with local media outlets (newspapers, TV, radio) to secure regular coverage of DCK events and achievements
- Draft press releases, coordinate interviews, and manage media appearances
- Maintain a comprehensive archive of media coverage (both soft and hard copies)
Event Promotion & Coordination
- Oversee marketing for all performances, workshops, and community outreach events, including ticket sales coordination and relationship management with third-party vendors
