Maintenance Technician at Kim-Fay East Africa Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a competent and self-driven Maintenance Technician to support our operations through effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of machinery and facility systems. The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime and enhancing equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plant machinery with minimal supervision
• Install, commission, and optimize equipment performance
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance reports and technical documentation
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in machine maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial production environment
• Demonstrated ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Proven competence in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of plant machinery
• Strong understanding of equipment installation, commissioning, and performance optimization
