Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines (lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, etc.) to produce components according to engineering drawings
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
• Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job
• Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently
• Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
• Adjust machine settings as required to maintain tolerances and address production issues
• Maintain accurate production records, including job sheets, measurements, and material usage
• Work closely with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and improve machining efficiency
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

• Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Test in Machining, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience operating manual or CNC machines
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, materials, and cutting tools
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.)
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
