## Title: Key Stage 1 Teacher

About the Role

Durham International Schools is seeking an experienced Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our team in Nairobi. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to all students in your class, fostering their development across academic, social, emotional, and physical dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning and Assessment

  • Plan and prepare learning activities and experiences aligned with the EYFS Framework and Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
  • Deliver a broad, balanced, and creative education that enables every child to develop to their maximum potential
  • Teach all students enthusiastically and to a high standard, adapting instruction to meet the individual educational needs of each child
  • Continuously assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of every child
  • Mark classwork and homework in accordance with the school marking policy
  • Provide feedback that supports student learning and development

Pastoral Care & Student Wellbeing

  • Provide pastoral care and safeguarding, promoting the wellbeing and inclusion of all students
  • Create and maintain a well-managed and stimulating class environment that promotes positive learning
  • Ensure every child is included and achieves to their full potential
  • Communicate and consult with parents regarding the academic, physical, social, and emotional development of their children

Curriculum & School Community

  • Provide opportunities for the use of digital technology across all curriculum areas
  • Contribute to Year Group team planning and organisation
  • Support and drive the school's ethos, aims, and values
  • Contribute to the co-curricular programme and wider school life
  • Maintain effective communication with parents as partners in their children's learning
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with the School's Code of Conduct
