About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as a Registered Pediatric Critical Care Nurse at our facility in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain critical care centers in clean, safe conditions that provide a conducive environment for patient care
• Ensure critical care centers are fully equipped with all necessary machinery, equipment, and materials for patient care
• Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices including cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators, alarms, oxygen delivery devices, transducers, and pressure lines
• Identify malfunctioning equipment or devices and report issues to the biomedical engineering section
• Receive pediatric patients in critical condition and admit them to the critical care centers for advanced care
• Deliver qualified nursing care in accordance with established Nursing Standards and hospital policies and procedures
• Provide quality critical care nursing services to critically ill pediatric patients based on assessment data and identified needs
• Monitor patients' progress and changes in health status and clinical condition
• Administer prescribed therapeutic procedures based on patients' clinical status
• Assess patients' pain levels and sedation requirements
• Conduct pulmonary assessments to identify abnormal respiratory patterns or breathing sounds
• Document patients' medical histories and assessment findings
• Compile and analyze data obtained from monitoring and diagnostic tests
• Evaluate critical care nursing practice protocols and effectiveness
