ISP Technician- Nairobi at Fireside Engineering Group

About the Role

We are thrilled to announce an opening for the position of ISP Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join our technical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables and other network equipment
• Resolve Loss of Services and Connections within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframes
• Update tickets timely and close them with clear documentation once resolved
• Observe Health & Safety guidelines and ensure quality assurance throughout implementation and maintenance periods
• Educate clients on basic troubleshooting processes and answer fiber optic-related questions
• Perform fiber link faulting and fault resolutions within the SLA
• Splice fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs
• Troubleshoot and test fiber links using light sources, optical power meters, and OTDR equipment
• Provide timely updates on fiber faults to NOC personnel
• Ensure excellent customer service to clients
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and NOC personnel under field supervisor direction
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Required Education & Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Fiber Optics
• At least 1 year of experience in fiber optics
• Proficiency in fiber handling and maintenance
