ISP Technician- Nairobi at Fireside Engineering Group

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Fireside Engineering Group as an ISP Technician. We are seeking a skilled technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot fiber optic network infrastructure while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables and other network equipment
• Resolve loss of services and connections within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframes
• Update tickets timely and close them with clear documentation once resolved
• Splice fiber optics at various fiber distribution hubs
• Troubleshoot and test fiber links using light sources, optical power meters, and OTDR equipment
• Identify and resolve fiber link faults within SLA parameters
• Provide timely updates on fiber faults to Network Operations Center (NOC) personnel
• Educate clients on basic troubleshooting processes and answer fiber optic-related questions
• Observe Health & Safety guidelines and ensure quality assurance throughout implementation and maintenance
• Work collaboratively with other technicians and NOC personnel under field supervisor direction
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Fiber Optics
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with fiber optics
• Proficiency in fiber handling and maintenance
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise
