Instrument Technician at Hewatele

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to join our team as an Instrument Technician.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation including pressure, flow, temperature, and gas analyzers
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty instruments, PLCs, and control systems
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on instrumentation equipment
• Assist in commissioning and testing of new equipment and systems
• Maintain accurate records of calibration, maintenance, and repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Process Control, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• At least 3 years of practical experience in instrumentation within a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Knowledge of industrial gases or chemical processing (an added advantage)

Technical Skills

• Calibration and maintenance of sensors and transmitters (pressure, flow, temperature)
• PLC and SCADA systems troubleshooting
• Understanding of control loops and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
• Use of diagnostic tools and calibration equipment
• Electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures
• Documentation and reporting of maintenance activities
