Head of Sales & Marketing

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to drive revenue growth and brand visibility for UMS Kenya by leading all sales and marketing functions. The role holder will develop and implement effective strategies to grow market share, build strong customer relationships, and position UMS Kenya as the preferred provider of prepaid utility metering solutions.

Sales Management Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets
• Identify, develop, and convert sales leads into business opportunities
• Follow up on inquiries generated through customer service and marketing channels
• Manage walk-in customers and ensure high-quality customer engagement
• Drive direct sales of water, electricity, and gas meters and ensure timely payment processing in coordination with finance
• Undertake field visits to acquire new customers and expand market reach
• Recruit, manage, and support sales agents and resellers
• Oversee agent stock allocation, utilization, and reconciliation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and strategic clients
• Ensure optimal utilization of departmental resources (financial, human, and material)
• Prepare and submit accurate sales reports including daily and monthly sales performance, data analysis and forecasts, market feedback, operational challenges and opportunities, and risk assessment and mitigation plans

Marketing Management Responsibilities

• Develop and implement periodic marketing strategies aligned to company objectives
• Oversee execution of branding initiatives to strengthen UMS Kenya's market position
• Manage all digital platforms including social media channels and the company website
• Plan and coordinate participation in exhibitions, expos, trade fairs, and industry events
• Design and execute promotional campaigns and special offers to drive sales
