Head of Risk at DIB Bank Kenya Limited (DIBBKE)

Job Purpose

To provide overall oversight—both technical and leadership—on Risk Management, Credit Administration, Recovery, and Special Assets. This role involves developing and implementing effective strategies, policies, procedures, and frameworks across these critical areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Design risk framework and define risk tolerance limits to ensure risk remains within board-approved tolerance rates
• Develop and periodically review Risk Management Information Systems (MIS) and Portfolio Quality reports for active risk management and alignment with tolerance levels
• Update Senior Management and Board of Directors on all matters related to Risk, Credit Administration, Recovery, and Special Assets Management
• Ensure effective Risk and Credit systems are in place to optimize credit and risk reporting processes to meet business requirements
• Develop and implement Risk and Credit Management Policies and Frameworks across all risk and business areas, ensuring risk/reward balance and market alignment
• Serve as a member of the Executive Committee, Management Committee, Board Credit Committee, Collection Committee, Investment Committee, Risk Management Committee, and ALCO
• Build and retain a team of competent risk management, credit administration, recovery, and special assets professionals; ensure effective succession planning for business continuity
• Meet with and present to delegates from rating agencies, foreign banks, consultants, internal and external auditors on risk management matters
• Review all internal and external audit reports and coordinate with support and business units to address raised concerns
• Review and provide feedback on external credit and risk agency reports on the bank
• Carefully evaluate all credit proposals and provide logical recommendations prior to submission to higher authority and the Credit Committee for approval
