Head of Institutional Banking and Custodial Services at Bank of Africa Kenya Limited

About the Role

A dynamic team is expanding and seeking an experienced banking professional to lead institutional banking and custodial services. This position offers the opportunity to drive growth through strategic relationship management and business development within Kenya's institutional banking sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate relationships with institutional clients including parastatals, government ministries, and developmental agencies to ensure client satisfaction and retention
• Monitor and develop institutional and developmental agency relationships to drive business growth
• Market suitable growth opportunities and overall stability solutions across the bank's balance sheet through expansion of current account services, collection business, and wholesale deposits from institutional clients
• Stay abreast of market developments, government projects, and initiatives undertaken by parastatals, government ministries, and developmental agencies
• Track industry trends and sector-specific developments to anticipate and respond to current and future client needs
• Identify and develop new business proposals efficiently to secure potential new business opportunities for the bank
• Maintain ongoing communication with developmental agencies, government ministries, and Treasury to ensure awareness of positive developments

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
• Formal training in lending and relationship management
• Minimum 8 years of experience in banking, with at least 4 years in a managerial role in business development within Institutional Banking or Corporate/SME sectors
• Strong knowledge of the local banking industry, banking products, services, and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• AKIB or ACIB professional qualification
• Business-related professional certification
