About the Role
Bank of Africa Kenya Limited is seeking a dynamic Head of Institutional Banking and Custodial Services to lead the expansion of our institutional banking division. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for driving growth, relationship management, and business development within the institutional banking sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate relationships with institutional clients including parastatals, government ministries, and developmental agencies to ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Market banking solutions to support balance sheet growth through expansion of current account and collection business, as well as wholesale deposits from institutional clients
- Monitor market developments, government projects, and initiatives undertaken by parastatals, ministries, and developmental agencies
- Stay informed of banking industry trends and sector-specific developments to address current and future institutional client needs
- Develop and implement new business proposals efficiently to secure potential growth opportunities for the bank
- Maintain strategic relationships with developmental agencies, government ministries, and the Treasury to ensure alignment with key stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field
- Formal training in lending and relationship management
- Minimum 8 years of experience in banking and financial services
- At least 4 years in a managerial role in business development, institutional banking, or corporate SME banking
- Strong knowledge of the local banking industry, banking products, services, and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- AKIB or ACIB certification, or other business-related professional qualification
