## Title: Executive Director, Kenya Wildlife Trust

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to lead Kenya Wildlife Trust (KWT) as Executive Director. In this role, you will drive the organization's strategic vision and position KWT as Africa's premier predator conservation leader by 2035.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Lead KWT's Strategic Plan delivery and drive program expansion across the Greater Mara and beyond
  • Position the organisation as a thought leader in predator conservation and coexistence
  • Elevate KWT's profile with conservation partners, government, and global stakeholders

Fundraising and Partnerships

  • Mobilise resources from foundations, corporates, and major donors
  • Represent KWT with conservation partners, government, and global stakeholders

Programme Excellence

  • Champion community-led conservation initiatives
  • Build networks of emerging Kenyan conservation leaders
  • Drive strategic policy engagement and advocacy
  • Communicate KWT's impact to all stakeholders

Organisational Leadership

  • Lead a high-performing team across Nairobi and the Mara
  • Foster an inclusive, learning-oriented culture
  • Develop emerging conservation leaders

Financial Oversight & Governance

  • Ensure strong financial management and accountability
  • Drive responsible stewardship aligned with strategic priorities
  • Support the Board and safeguard organisational integrity and equity

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in management, leadership, conservation, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in wildlife conservation with proven strategic leadership and management experience
  • Strong strategic planning, financial management, and organisational development skills
  • Proven success securing funding from foundations, corporates, and major donors
  • Deep knowledge of Kenya's conservation challenges, particularly predator conservation and human-wildlife coexistence
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors
  • Ability to establish stakeholder relationships with government, academia, and communities
  • Strong governance and financial accountability expertise
