Environment Assistant at Agro-Chemical and Food Company

About the Role

This is an entry and training level position for Diploma holders. You will work under the supervision of a senior officer and play a vital role in maintaining environmental and effluent treatment operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain lubrication oil for gas blowers, pumps, and other effluent treatment plant equipment
• Collect samples and conduct simple quality tests for routine analysis
• Maintain records of the Effluent Treatment Plant
• Conduct daily inspections of the Effluent Treatment Plant and effluent chemical treatment processes
• Trim ponds at the plant
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the plant
• Remove floating foreign matter from lagoons and ponds
• Incinerate hazardous waste
• Carry out basic machinery diagnosis and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications

• Diploma in Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Management, Sewerage Technician, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya

Required Documentation

Successful candidates must submit the following:

• Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
• Clearance certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
