Design Engineer at Miale Solar Inventions Ltd

About the Role

Miale Solar Inventions Ltd seeks a dedicated Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of solar PV and battery storage systems. You will be responsible for accurate system sizing, layout drawings, technical analysis, and documentation to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective designs in line with project requirements, standards, and company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complete system designs for solar PV and hybrid (PV + BESS) projects, including site layout, electrical schematics, and mechanical arrangements
• Conduct post-feasibility site visits and assessments to inform detailed designs
• Prepare design documentation including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), cable routing plans, string sizing, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support the portfolio development team to prepare performance simulations and yield analysis using software tools such as PVsyst, Helioscope, or HomerPro
• Collaborate with procurement to specify components and validate suppliers' technical offerings
• Support the preparation of technical proposals and bid documents with the business development team
• Ensure all designs meet local and international standards, codes, and safety requirements
• Work closely with construction and installation teams to ensure accurate on-site execution of designs
• Assist in troubleshooting and redesigning systems when deviations or site-specific issues arise
• Contribute to continuous improvement by integrating innovative technologies and tools into the design process

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in solar PV system design and engineering
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and related design software
• Experience designing both on-grid and off-grid systems
