About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Deputy Dean of Students at Karatina University. This role involves providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight of student affairs and organizational matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise the Student Governing Council (SGC) on matters concerning its functions and regulate its expenditure
• Administer Students' Organization elections and oversee smooth transitions
• Process and clear internal and external students' correspondence and provide secretarial assistance
• Coordinate with the students' organization to deliver various entertainment and social events for students
• Receive and process students' disciplinary cases for the Disciplinary Committee
• Supervise and coordinate all students' publications
• Maintain communication between the University administration and students through their organization
• Facilitate the clearance process for students leaving the country in conjunction with the Ministry of Education
• Plan, prepare, and direct student welfare activities
• Maintain safe custody of Students' Organizations equipment and keep records of all equipment
• Facilitate procurement of equipment and oversee the management of Students Centre facilities
• Perform any other duties as assigned by a Senior Officer

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution
• At least three (3) years of work experience in a relevant field
• Knowledge of Information Communication Technology
• Membership registration with a relevant professional body
• Fulfillment of the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya
