Job Purpose
The Data Scientist will play a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making across the Bank. The role holder will analyze large and complex datasets to uncover actionable insights, build advanced analytical and machine learning models, and support optimization of business processes aimed at maximizing revenue growth, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineering to develop and enrich an enterprise-level analytical platform and data hub
- Design and launch innovative and complex analytical models to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, risk management, and business strategies
- Develop machine learning algorithms and understand their applications in banking
- Support rapid data product development and automation within bank projects in collaboration with developers and other functions
Key Competencies
- Proven experience in Data Science projects across the full life cycle, from use case framing, data exploration, model building, and deployment
- Hands-on experience with statistical modelling and machine learning techniques
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases and query authoring
- Experience with object-oriented and functional programming approaches
- Knowledge of and interest in emerging technologies within the big data space
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative discipline
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases
- Demonstrated experience with Python or R
- Experience with object-oriented and functional programming scripts
- Working familiarity with a variety of databases
