About the Role

Kenya Builders & Concrete Co. Ltd seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Nairobi. In this position, you will be responsible for accurate and timely data entry, database management, and financial record-keeping to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
• Type in data provided directly from customers
• Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without errors
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Accurately and timely update existing data
• Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
• Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
• Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to prevent loss

Key Deliverables

• Timely and accurate preparation of daily cash flow reports
• Prompt receipt and processing of client payments following timely invoice delivery
• Safe storage of documents for easier retrieval during internal, external, and statutory audits
• Strict adherence to company finance and accounting policies, procedures, and processes
• Timely and accurate posting of transactions on the financial management system

Required Skills and Competencies

• Fast typing skills
• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel, etc.)
• Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
• Basic understanding of databases
• Good command of English (oral and written) and customer service skills
• Great attention to detail
• Highest level of personal and professional integrity

Required Qualifications and Experience

• High school Certificate with an overall C+ grade minimum
• C+ and above in Mathematics (mandatory)
