Credit Analyst – Unsecured Assets at DIB Bank Kenya Limited (DIBBKE)

Job Purpose

To analyze and process all cases received at the Retail Credit Department to ensure they are within policy parameters and meet credit considerations. Additionally, to assure proper authority compliance in accordance with the approved delegated matrix.

Key Responsibilities

Discretionary Authority

• Apply judicious use of delegated discretionary decision-making authority in the approval of all deviations from product policy and credit parameters as per the approved delegated matrix

Credit Policy, Product Manual & Operational Issues

• Meet targeted productivity levels and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLA) and turnaround times (TAT)
• Ensure reduction in individual and overall error rates, maintaining error rates not exceeding 1% per month
• Properly mitigate assigned delegation of authority as laid down by the bank
• Identify and highlight fraudulent activities to reduce risk exposure and increase quality of analysis
• Ensure compliance with quality standards for authenticated documentation and policy parameters
• Verify authenticity of data reported in daily productivity sheets
• Maintain appropriate productivity output levels during peak periods (month-end, promotions, etc.)
• Process deviation approvals from product and credit parameters according to the delegated authority matrix
• Maintain quality of detailed credit narrations to facilitate management approval
• Analyze and process cases based on comprehensive evaluation of customer profile, employment status, industry, financial position, existing liabilities, aggregate exposure to DIB Kenya, and repayment capability
• Cross-reference customer records with Central Bank reports, EMcredit, collection records, and blacklists to minimize risks related to customer integrity, credibility, repayment history, and relationships with other banks
• Conduct Contact Point Verification (CP) as required
