County Chief Officer - Natural Resources

About the Role

Siaya County Government seeks an experienced professional for the position of County Chief Officer - Natural Resources. Reporting to the respective County Executive Committee Member, you will serve as the authorised and accounting officer of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer the county department and ensure effective service delivery through implementation of laid-out policies and regulations
• Implement County Executive Committee resolutions as guided by the Executive Committee Member
• Implement policies and development plans
• Develop and implement Strategic Plans in consultation with the Executive Committee Member
• Promote national values and principles of governance as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010
• Uphold the values and principles of public service as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010

Requirements for Appointment

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• Hold a first degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya
• Have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, with 5 years minimum in a senior management position
• Possess general knowledge of County Government and its functions
• Demonstrate understanding of county goals, policies, and developmental objectives
• Demonstrate leadership and management capacity, including knowledge of financial management and strategic people management skills
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya

Terms of Service

• 3-year contract renewable annually, subject to performance
• Remuneration and benefits as prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
