## Title: County Chief Officer - Lands, Physical Planning, Housing & Urban Development

About the Position

This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth in county government leadership. The County Chief Officer will report to the respective County Executive Committee Member and serve as the authorized and accounting officer of the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer the county department and ensure effective service delivery through implementation of established policies and regulations
  • Implement County Executive Committee resolutions as directed by the Executive Committee Member
  • Implement policies and development plans aligned with county objectives
  • Develop and implement Strategic Plans in consultation with the Executive Committee Member
  • Promote national values and principles of governance as outlined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010
  • Uphold the values and principles of public service as established in the Constitution of Kenya 2010

Requirements for Appointment

  • Be a Kenyan citizen
  • Hold a first degree in a relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya
  • Have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position
  • Possess general knowledge of County Government functions and operations
  • Demonstrate understanding of county goals, policies, and developmental objectives
  • Demonstrate leadership and management capacity, including knowledge of financial management and strategic people management skills
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher academic qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya

Terms of Service

  • 3-year contract renewable annually subject to performance evaluation
  • Remuneration and benefits as prescribed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC)
